40 Year Building Inspections are required to insure the structural integrity of an older building.<\/h2>\n

The Miami-Dade County<\/strong> ordinance requires that certain commercial buildings, condominiums and rental apartments must be inspected and recertified by a licensed professional engineer (or architect) when a building reaches 40 years old and at 10 year intervals thereafter. This ordinance does not apply to single-family and duplex residences or to \u201cminor\u201d buildings less than 2,000 square feet and an occupancy of less than 10 persons (as defined by the Florida Building Code.) Failure to obtain recertification will result in loss of the certificate of occupancy for the building. Minimum inspection standards are established by the County.<\/p>\n
